The Baja California peninsula is home to many forms of life found nowhere else on the planet, including more than 160 different species of amphibians and reptiles. This, combined with rugged, diverse and inaccessible terrain, makes the area one of the last true biological frontiers in North America.

Participants have the flexibility to arrive, explore, and participate in a way that best suits their preferences.

This workshop highlights the rich wildlife diversity of northern Baja California, focusing on California's special-status herpetofauna, while also exploring species common to the region. Participants can expect to encounter California red-legged frogs, arroyo toads, two-striped snakes, red diamondback rattlesnakes, and many other species of amphibians and reptiles. Desert birds and mammals are also likely to appear.

There will be numerous opportunities to learn about California's special status species through hands-on experiences complemented by theoretical knowledge.

The workshop leaders bring a wealth of expertise, having decades of experience in studying and assessing the species that live here. With a great knowledge of their behavior, they excel in locating occupied territories. Their shared knowledge enhances participation in the workshop, so you can gain valuable insights into the intricacies of their life cycles and ecological interactions.

Take advantage of this excellent opportunity to connect with others who share your interests and expand your professional network. Networking with others who share your interests can lead to valuable collaborations, knowledge and lasting relationships in your field.

All funds generated from the workshop will go to support Fauna of del Noroeste and our conservation efforts.
