ABOUT US
We promote efforts to achieve a greater impact on the conservation of regional biodiversity. We focus on studying less charismatic and poorly understood animal groups, such as amphibians, reptiles, small rodents, terrestrial birds and arthropods, since the lack of information on these taxa limits the necessary conservation actions.
Mission
Promote the sustainable management of natural resources through scientific research, ecological restoration, environmental education and collaboration with scientific sectors. We work to develop solutions that preserve the flora and fauna of northwestern Mexico, promoting knowledge and community engagement as fundamental pillars for the conservation of our natural environment.

To become a bridge that integrates scientific knowledge, ecological restoration and environmental education with social commitment, leading initiatives that reach a sustainable balance between human development and the preservation of the ecosystems of northwestern Mexico. We aspire to be a global model in the protection of biodiversity, securing a solid and lasting natural legacy for future generations.
OUR TEAM
Executive Director
PhD. Anny Peralta
A biologist from UABC, with a Master's degree in Science (SDSU) and a PhD in Natural Resources Conservation (CIBNOR), she researches the distribution, threats, genetics of amphibians, and the conservation of wildlife in northwestern Mexico.
Research Coordinator
MSc. Jorge Valdéz
A biologist with a degree from UABC and a Master of Science from CIBNOR, he specializes in the diversity, ecology, and conservation of herpetofauna in northwestern Mexico. He is associate curator of the UABC Herpetological Collection in Ensenada.
Administrator
Cinthia Haro
With extensive experience in the administrative management of conservation associations, he excels at coordinating operational functions and contributing to species preservation with great passion and skill.
Project Coordinator
Angela Tamayo
A UABC graduate, she is a biologist interested in bird conservation and ecology. She has volunteered on expeditions to Baja California and Guadalupe Island. She is currently developing a project on plant-bird interactions at the UABC Botanical Garden.
Scientific Communications Coordinator
David Mora
A biologist with a degree from UABC, he has experience in environmental education. With extensive communication skills and a strong interest in making scientific information accessible and engaging for diverse audiences.
Project Assistant
Brayan León
A biologist graduated from the Faculty of Sciences at UABC, he has a deep passion for turtles and environmental education. He is currently working on his thesis on the ecological aspects of the pond turtle in Baja California.

Sara García
An environmental scientist and graduate of UABC, she has a strong interest in environmental restoration and the protection of native species. She has experience in environmental education, as well as in the management, germination, and transplanting of native plants. She is currently developing her thesis on eradication strategies for the invasive plant known as Carpobrotus sp. (also known as ice plant).

PhD. Sula Vanderplank
A botanist specializing in vegetation and biodiversity conservation in Baja California. She holds a PhD in Plant Ecology from the University of California, Riverside. Her research has been instrumental in conservation efforts at various sites across the peninsula.

PhD. Arturo Ramírez
Marine ecologist specialized in coastal environments and ecosystem services, he holds a master's degree in coastal oceanography (UABC) and a PhD in marine biology (Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UC San Diego). He has experience directing research and teaching at UC San Diego, UABC, and CIAD.

MSc. Salvador González Guzmán
We take this space to remember our dear friend Salvador, Coordinator of Environmental Education and Bird Conservation. A biologist with a Master of Science from UABC, he dedicated over 15 years to wildlife conservation, leaving an invaluable mark on our organization and northwestern Mexico. His passion for nature lives on, inspiring us every time a bird takes flight.
