FIRST EVENT: 2-4 OCTOBER | SECOND EVENT: 16-18 OCTOBER
AN ONGOING EFFORT FOR CONSERVATION
The California Red-Legged Frog (Rana draytonii) is an endangered species that plays a vital role in its native habitats. Since 2018, Fauna del Noroeste has been working alonsidevour community to build ponds and restore habitats within its historical range, helping to provide living spaces for these populations.

¿WHY MAINTENANCE?
Over time, the pools naturally become overgrown with aquatic vegetation, primarily Typha domingensis (southern cattail). Excessive growth of this plant can impede the frogs' movement and cause the pools to dry up, making it necessary to remove it until approximately 80% of the pool is cleared.
BE PART OF THIS
Our event takes place at Rancho Meling, an ecotourism site in the Sierra San Pedro Mártir that plays a vital role in our conservation efforts for this frog.
After arriving and setting up camp, we get to work.
The work is divided into three sessions, with the group organized into teams to carry out various tasks—all working together for the benefit of the species! We remain constantly mindful of the surrounding wildlife to ensure no harm comes to them.
